In my earlier works
I was looking for foredoomedly abstract features in Nature. After acquiring variant techniques I found oil on canvas the most
suitable for realising my artistic concepts. Maybe in order to counterweight I started to use more and more paint I invented
my special technique where the painting’s specific surface texture is generated by solid
paint strings. Glinting of light on these shiny paint strings and their dropshadow stand in the center of my intrest:
geometrical shapes worked out with the help of organic surfaces.
These oppositions
are processed in the „Bales” sequence by organising the elements into perspicuous set-up, which means a kind of
an array. Paralell lines are suitable for intresting optical effects, expressing playfulness and different rhythms, however
no matter how orderly I develop them, my main aim is to reach an organic outcome as these works are also landscape-based.
So, from the chaos
of these lines one can set forth towards many different kinds of orders; last year I delt with lines shaping into words, or
text within the surface of my works – in the relation of regular and irregular
– how can disorder - on it’s own expense - turn into text. I also painted textless works that accompany the ones
with texts in order to experiment with balance between verbal and non-verbal messages.
Later my attention
was diverted to correspondences and discrepancies, different aspects, different approaches.
Looking for oneness
in the world of constant polarity and duality I did series titled „Desire for one” in the beginning
of 2005 which is a continuation in compositional sense of the previous series that was based on counterpoints, titled: ”I’m only doing my job”. Using traditional materials in a non-traditional
way is a common method for both series.
My recent works’s
subject matter didn’t change, though technically they are different: reweaving the canvas from pre-cut stripes the skin
of a painting first gets decomposed, then becomes reconstituted, so levels are created. As a beginning I first made a picture
with a hole in the middle, which actually is a question. This technique is capable to make up different levels with the same
markings. Expressing this idea „4” is the most representative. Embedding
a smaller picture into a bigger one with different markings is the actual problem I’m working on.
